I grew up in the suburbs of L.A. — a very normal childhood except for the fact that I spent every other weekend and all my summer vacations at my family’s Spanish-language nightclub in Central California. At a very young age, I learned how to navigate drunks and wannabes… which prepared me well for my eventual career in Hollywood.
Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with movies and TV, especially the indie comedies of the ’90s — movies like Mr. Jealousy, Chasing Amy, and Rushmore. With boldness and audacity, those movies used laughter to pull us into stories that were real, honest, and compelling.
I’ve been trying to do that ever since.
Over a writing career that’s included sitcoms and features, I’ve been lucky enough to write for comedy legends, teen superstars, and even Santa Claus. I’m passionate about comedic storytelling and about helping writers find their unique voice.

Oh, and I was once a contestant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire…
Spoiler alert: I did not become a millionaire.
